Providing leadership insights by combining business logic with art, the mind with the heart

Who is Arend?

If you don’t know me by now… my name is Arend Boersema.

I am a global citizen, hip hop fanatic, avid writer, and eternal optimist.

I was born in Indonesia, as a Dutch citizen. Lived in Haiti, The Netherlands, Belgium, and Ireland, to eventually end up on the other side of the ocean. Currently I am a proud Philly transplant and consider Rochester, NY my second home.

I have experience leading HR Departments and providing Executive Leadership Coaching for over a decade in various healthcare related settings, from pediatrics, to behavioral health, to geriatrics.

Driven by a passion to pass it forward I taught graduate HRD courses as adjunct professor at RIT on topics such as Team Dynamics and Facilitation, Global Culture and HRD, and Leadership Effectiveness for over 8 years.

As a seasoned HR and OD expert with footing in both Education and Social Work, my focus is on growing emotional intelligent leaders, connecting teams, and leading effective change.

My formula for success relies on combining business logic with art, the mind with the heart. Sometimes we just need to connect with others to change our perspectives a bit so that we may gain insights and clarity. For me, poetry helps with that.

My greatest joy comes from seeing leaders and teams have a light bulb moment, inspiring them to tackle their next challenge with clarity and optimism.

Credentials

I have been able to put my Master’s in Human Resources Development and my double Bachelor’s in Social Work and Education to good use for over a decade within various healthcare settings, from pediatrics, to behavioral health, to geriatrics.

As a lifelong learner I am committed to exploring new ways to grow my competencies and offer you expert guidance. Here are some of the certifications I hold.
